Did everyone survive April?
While quarantined full time in April, I read 6 books. All my library books have been read since this all started in March. I'm surprised actually, this never happens! I now got to attack my NetGalley books that I completely forget about...but there's a few I'm excited about. I'm just not into kindle reading yet. Fingers crossed!

This book was a very interesting read. It was long but kept me wanting to finish it. A young student gets involved with a teacher. That's all I'm going to say as you really need to read the book to understand the scope of it. It may not be what you're thinking either!

This is a dramatic and heartbreaking story about neighbors, race, class and a secret teenage romance. The ending is very surprising. A must read!

Annie Lee is doing her best to get along with her mama after her daddy passes. She is basically in charge of herself while her mother works tirelessly to make a living for them. Annie Lee decides to enter a contest and not only does it help her, it helps the friend helping her and her mother. Such a good read!

Summer love..gone so fast. Ollie and Will meet during the summer and think they'll never see each other again until family circumstances have Ollie moving to Will's area. Will hasn't come out yet so Ollie, who is out, has to play the game of nothing happened. It hurts their friendship but overall love conquers all!
⭐⭐⭐⭐
Agnes is what she will call the perfect Hollywood wife. Her husband thinks highly of himself and decides he's done. The story that unfolds makes you laugh because I'm sure there are relationships like this in real life.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I loved this book. I loved it so much that I read it in one day. I related to each "sister" in their own way and I really want to see the author continue Heather's story in the future. For sure read this book!

Happy reading!
My Dark Vanessa is on my TBR, but I hadn't heard of a lot of the other ones! I'll have to check them out further- thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI also need to attack my Netgalley shelf. I'm such a rule follower- before it all went down I was at like 84%, and after, with everyone offering only ebooks, I'm down to 72! Yikes! But there's sooo many good ones waiting for me, so there's a silver lining.
ReplyDeleteI love Susan Mallery and hadn't yet heard of Sisters by choice; sounds like you had lots of good books to keep you company. Pinned.
ReplyDeleteI also have been getting used to reading on my kindle and I'm not a huge fan. But it's the only way for me to get new reads from the library! A Good Neighborhood is on my to read list. I see Sisters by Choice is the fourth in a series, so may have to start with book one. Looks like a good summer read.
ReplyDeleteA Good Neighborhood looks interesting. I see it everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI usually like Susan Mallery's books and I haven't read that new one yet!
ReplyDeleteI thought Only Mostly Devastated was a good one!!

My Dark Vanessa was dark but quite good. Left me thinking at least.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely interested in My Dark Vanessa. I don't mind dark but I do have to be in the right mood for it. Not sure if now is the best time, but definitely plan on reading it at some point.
ReplyDeleteBeginners Welcome sounds like a cute, light read. I've had a few heavy ones lately - may need to check this out! Thanks for sharing and enjoy your month :)
