I am ready for cooler temps. Missouri has been miserable but it is what it is obviously.
What we're eating this week:
I'm getting tired of cooking. Honestly it's because I get no help doing it. I like it but sometimes I need a break. I had a goal for K to at least start BBQ-ing but that happened 1 time.
Sun - protein penne pasta
Mon - buffalo chicken wraps
Tues - tacos
Wed - shrimp
Thurs - chicken parmesan
Fri - out
Sat, Sun - camping
What I'm reminiscing about:
Our trip to Big Cedar. Yes we go at least 2x a year but it doesn't ever get old!
What I'm loving:
That our month of renovations & demolition is over. Not revealing it yet as we have 1 last thing to do this week but I am so happy with it that I've already told our contractor to put us on his docket next year for our next project.
(A sneak peek of one of the three projects)
What we've been up to:
Big Cedar & SDC weekend
Outdoor concert
School year started for us both (teachers)
Camping
What I'm dreading:
Nothing currently. Shocker I know 🤣
What I'm working on:
I need to desperately sit at my desk and get photo books designed and printed. I also need to work on my scrapbook.
What I'm excited about:
Fall!
What I'm watching/reading:
Just finished "Must Love Flowers" by Debbie Macomber
Now starting "The Summer of Songbirds" by Kristy Woodson Harvey
Currently watching When Calls the Heart, Real Housewives and catching up on Below Deck. I really loved the reality series LA Fire & Rescue docuseries that's been on but over now.
What I'm listening to:
I love the original Billy Joel one so when I caught thus 2nd version by Fall Out Boy I got a bit hooked.
At my nieces recital the above song played as 2 senior dancers did a dance to it and I've been hooked!
What I'm wearing:
Capris and tennis shoes are my jam, maybe a skort. I'm really loving skorts again.
What I'm doing this weekend:
Camping with the family
What I'm looking forward to next month:
Being less busy!
We literally only have plans one of the weekends and I'm all for the nothingness!!
For our anniversary the other day I casually mentioned we should go see the Barbie movie as everyone I know who has seen it, loved it. I knew I'd see it at some point but because some of the guys in our life said it wasn't bad, K was in agreement.
Let's be serious, they all went for Margot Robbie 😉
I really liked it!
People are on the fence but it honestly has a good story to it.
Barbie is an icon who hasn't gone away. Everyone I know grew up with a Barbie. Everyone has had a doll of some sort in their life. I had these from my mom then my own. My sister has them now for the twins. I actually enjoy seeing the new dolls they come up with.
I even had a doll whose head came off that we called the grandma doll, kinda like Weird Barbie:
Why we called it grandma, I do not remember!
If you see it, great.
If you don't, great.
If you buy them for the girls in your family, great.
If you refuse to buy them for the girls in your family, great.
At some point, every girl has been a part of the Barbie world!
By day, I'm a curious teacher, busily trying to install knowledge into the minds of our future leaders. By night, I'm a fun loving person ready for a Blues game, karaoke, a night on the town or just being a bum on the couch with a good movie. I am attached to Keith, who is a technology guru, always ready to equip our new house with the latest upgrade. We love to have fun and we'll just have to see what the future holds...
