What's Up Wednesday!?!

Man, I've missed this blogging world!

1) What we're eating this week:
Sun - leftovers
Mon - shrimp skewers
Tues - orange chicken
Wed - steak fajitas
Thurs - egg rolls
Fri - out
Sat - out

2) What I'm reminiscing about:
Our bucket list trip back in June to California!
It was great!
I need to travel for a living!

3) What I'm loving:
cooler weather has somewhat moved into Missouri - and I'm all about that!

4) What we've been up to:
Rona decided to visit me with a vengeance last Monday but I'm on the up and up now.
Started with a headache that still hasn't gone away, then a fever, body aches and fatigue.
But knock on wood, its been mild and I never lost taste or smell.

I'm not sure if I trust those at home tests because the one the night this started was negative then the next AM it was clear as day positive at the dr office.

Just be careful with them, that's all!

5) What I'm dreading:
Nothing right now honestly!

6) What I'm working on:
lots of sleeping & reading

7) What I'm excited about:
In case you didn't know, Missouri is home to Bass Pro Outfitters and its owner Johnny Morris is quite the man.  He's opening up a new amphitheater in the Ozarks and Garth is performing - and we got tickets!  Super excited for a fall trip to the ozarks!

8) What I'm watching/reading:
Currently watching

Currently reading:

9) What I'm listening to:

10) What I'm wearing:
Nothing new but excited for a few fall clothes I've acquired.

11) What I'm doing this weekend:
anything not at my house as I've been locked away for 7ish days!

12) What I'm looking forward to next month:
- possible day at a state park
- yearly symphony concert at Forest Park
- a Cardinals game
- football starts!
- Big Cedar trip!

Have a great week!

BLT Day 3 - Random day around Cali

Our Day 3 was relaxing - just what we needed before the rest of the busy body week!

Our first stop of the day was Burn Boot Camp Costa Mesa:
One of the best things about our Burn membership is that its universal so you can attend any of the locations if there is one in the city you're in.  This was our 3rd different location and it was fun!

We had no agenda after camp so we decided to hit up the Orange County Outlet mall.  Let me tell you, it was fun to see a mall that's all filled up with stores, you don't see that much nowadays.

Then it was pool day!
It was hot, the pool was crowded.
They need a bigger pool, or a smaller crowd, but it was fun no matter what!

We trekked back down to Downtown Disney for dinner at Napolini for some good pizza before dessert from Crazy Shake and Salt n Straw.  Yum!

We were all for the low key day as the next 2 days had us on our toes from sunrise to sunset.

Come back Friday for day #4!

BLT Day 2 - WB & Hollywood

 Day 2!

We had rented a car for the 1st 3 days because there's a ton to see so I broke it up for when we come out again, we are kind of familiar with everything. I will note, K did not drive at all during this trip so I got the fun of figuring out the PCH etc...its not that bad!

Today we headed north to Burbank for the Warner Brothers Studio Tour.

My original plan was to go to Universal Hollywood but the more I heard that it was just ok, I had a ton of ppl talk about this tour so we decided to do this instead.

I will never look at movies the same way again!

Burbank is so nice. Like this studio, which is the real working one, was in the middle of a neighborhood. Wasn't expecting that!

The tour was amazing. The above shot is just one of many scenes in many movies. It's been transformed so many times. Ellen was in production while we were there, as was something Jason Momoa is in. We got to step onto the set of "Call Me Kat" which current airs on Fox.

We got to see everything then experience things from HP, Friends, Big Bang Theory and so much more. This was one of the most fun things we did. We ate lunch at Central Perk before we left for Hollywood!

I talked with someone at the tour about my plan the rest of the day, he gave me some tips and we found ourselves on Hollywood Blvd to see the Walk of Fame and everything else up and down that famous strip. It was crowded but fun! It's honestly everything you hear about.

Of course our next stop had to be:
Folks, the LA smog is real!

This is from Griffith Observatory which I was told was a key spot to see the sign. There was one other location we were told about once here but we settled for this. We played around the area for a bit before calling it a night.

I really wanted to see Rodeo Drive, and some other spots, but I was advised to save those for another time, which I plan to.  Now that I have a better understanding of how the area works, I'm prepared for the future!

After our shenanigans, we headed back to the hotel and back to Downtown Disney for dinner. The way Anaheim is set up, you can walk to just about anything which is nice after driving all day.

Such a fun day 2!

Day 3 coming up next!

Bucket list trip - Day 1 - California or bust!!

 Hey yall...I'm still around!

Not going to lie, life is busy. I don't get time to sit on my cpu anymore. In a way that's a good thing bit I do miss blogging so I'm trying hard to keep at it.  I've stumbled upon some free time for the next few days so I figured I'd get caught up!

In June we finally got our rescheduled covid vacation completed. Our agenda:
Southern California!

Originally we were hitting up Anaheim, beaches, Hollywood & San Diego. We eliminated SD for its own trip as it just got to be too much.

But friends it was heaven!
I got to check off another state, and can say I've been to both Disney parks in the USA. Not many can!

We flew in/out of Orange County, picked up our rental then our first stop was Huntington Beach.

I now understand why the shows set in California have everyone wearing wet suits in the ocean. It was freezing!

We ate lunch on the beach at Dukes and literally just enjoyed the beach scene.  Went into some surfer stores you only hear about but I totally get the vibe now and absolutely loved it.

From there we headed on to our hotel, which was less than a mile from Disney.  Got settled then walked over to Downtown Disney for dinner at BlackTap Burgers & Shakes.  Being significantly smaller than Disney World, the layout is different and you walk past the 2 parks to get to the downtown area.  So seeing all that was getting me excited for the days to come.

Come back tomorrow for day 2!  It was a hollywood event you won't want to miss!
