What's Up Wednesday!?!?

We are literally half way through 2021 - how on earth?!?!

People already have countdowns to Christmas that were popping up on facebook the other day.  I'm good on that ;)

I'm in a weird transition right now.  Regularly scheduled blogging will resume eventually!

1) What we're eating this week:
Sunday - grilled cheese
Monday - egg & bacon wraps with potatoes
Tuesday - mini wontons with carrots
Wednesday - pork chop with mashed taters and corn
Thursday - chicken quesadillas
Friday - out
Saturday - pigs in a blanket

2) What I'm reminiscing about:
Our AMAZING vacation to Aruba - how has it almost been 2 weeks since we got home?

~*~

3) What I'm loving:
pulling up pictures like this one and it relaxing me!

~*~

4) What we've been up to:
We went to Aruba via Baltimore and DC.  That literally took up our June.  I wouldn't have it any other way.

I'm also in transition with my professional life.  Fingers crossed it turns out the way I'm hoping it does.

5) What I'm dreading:
Something I have to do soon - it will be good for me but I'm afraid of the reaction.

~*~

6) What I'm working on:
I got my house decorated for July - yay!

I have a wreath to finish for August.

I need to start my scrapbook...one day...

~*~

7) What I'm excited about:
fireworks!  I love those majestic beams of light!

~*~

8) What I'm watching/reading:
On this most latest trip, I figured out how to utilize Southwest's free movies on their wifi channel.  I finally got to watch the movie "Let Him Go" and it was good!

I just finished the book The Guncle (loved it) and Soulmate Equation (eh, didn't hold up to all the hype)

~*~

9) What I'm listening to:
I really love this Jimmie Allen song:

~*~

10) What have I been wearing?
I wore a lot of dresses on our trip, which I've always loved them and loved wearing them more than normal.

~*~

11)  What I'm doing this weekend:
I worked my last Saturday last weekend (the bank is closed now on that day) so I hope to get back to boot camp that morning.  Then my nieces are coming over for shenanigans then Sunday we have a 4th of July big bang event.  I'm off Monday for the holiday also so its a true full 3 day weekend.

12) What I'm looking forward to in July:
~ figure out landscaping for backyard
~ celebrating our anniversary (small since Aruba was our big one)
~ a pool party
~ the Muny season starts up!

~*~

13) What else is new:
Not much /... yet!

Cheers to a great July friends!

Where am I going?!?!

 Tomorrow we are headed here:

by way of here:

and here:

We are super excited!  Sure there are lots of protocols in place but they are the same as the ones here.  This trip has been rescheduled 3x so of course anticipation is always exciting.  I need a vacation for my mental and emotional health.  11 days off is what the dr ordered.  I have lots of nothing planned and it will be great!

Have a great week friends!

May book review!

I'm excited that I actually remembered that it was book review day!  As usual it snuck up on me but I'm prepared this time, ha!

I read 6 books in May.  I can attest that June is going much slower but I have 3 plane rides coming up, airport waits and beach days so will get some much reading done there.  I'm super excited for it, not going to lie!

Vacation is much needed in many ways!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - People We Meet on Vacation - I LOVED this book.  It could easily be one of my favorites for the year.  I loved the friends to more than friends aspect and I think everyone needs a good solid friend like these 2 are in the book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - The Affair - another good Danielle Steel book.  I didn't think some of the actions were going to turn out the way they did.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - The Lager Queen of Minnesota - two sisters, one family farm, a family split.  It was a good read.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Mrs. Bixby's Last Day - this is an young adult book.  I remember reading some Bixby stories growing up.  This shows how children react to news they are uncertain of.

⭐⭐⭐ - An Invincible Summer (kindle) - with family and friends surrounding you, one can weather any storm.  2nd chances are worthwhile!

⭐⭐⭐ - The Bookstore on the Beach - this was a good read but I went in expecting more for whatever reason.

What are you reading?

Let's be friends on Goodreads.

Happy reading!

I hate packing!

It's literally all.i.did this weekend!

I also packed Keith's, because he's my kid 🙄

We leave on vacation in 6 days. While I'm super excited, I hate packing. I never know if I have enough, or too much or what. Since this trip is international, I can't just run to Target if I forget something.

Then the freak out if it weighs too much. I'll pick up a 50 lb weight at the gym to compare. I should be fine though...fingers crossed!

So for the most part, everything is ready. I'll go back through mine but I'm pretty sure we are good. Maybe...

In the middle of all that, we did go see A Quiet Place 2.

If you saw 1, you have to see 2...and I'm 99% sure there will be a 3. I'm not into scary movies but I love John Krasinski so I had to see these. I miss the theaters, there were only 2 other ppl in the theater. Go back friends, it's ok!

We also took a bike ride and got poured on in a random rainstorm that came. First time for that!

Have a great week friends!!
