What's Up Wednesday!

, Spring Break Ready!

The last Wednesday of February - man!  Someone said today they were happy for Feb to disappear as it was horrible.  I wouldn't use horrible but I would say long and cold!

1)  What we're eating this week:
Sun - leftovers
Mon - chicken skewers
Tues - quinoa
Wed - wraps
Thurs - pizza & salad
Fri - out
Sat - baked turkey tacos

2) What I'm reminiscing about:
February marked 20 years since my Mom's passing from leukemia.  We had dinner in her honor, it was good to get just us together.  I cannot believe its been 20 years, I remember it like it was yesterday.

3)  What I'm loving:
that I'm flu free!  I tested positive for A a few weeks ago and it knocked me out for a full week.  I've never had the flu nor have a had a flu shot.  No, its not going to change on whether I get one or not because honestly the doctor said we caught it early and Tamiflu, sleep & gatorade got me up and going again!

4)  What we've been up to:
We hosted Superbowl 3.0 at our hut and were super excited that the CHIEFS won - Missouri is a great state (Kronke you stink!)

5) What I'm dreading:
We have a few commitments in April and May with company I'm not a fan of.  As long as I stand my ground, it'll be fine...I hope!

6)  What I'm working on:
I finally got my 2018 scrapbook started and with hubby headed out of town 2x in the next 2 weeks I predict I'll get some of it done.

7) What I'm excited about:

Got a folder with information on our upcoming trip.  Its still a few months off but eek!

8)  What I'm watching/reading:
My Feb book review will be posted on March 10.
I've been watching the Bachelor and I think he's going to pick Maddie despite everything.  We shall see!

9) What I'm listening to:
I've been finding myself going back to 80s music lately.  Its awesome!

10)  What I'm wearing:
anything warm!

11) What I'm doing this weekend:
Working...boo
Blues game Saturday night
Keith's neice's 6th bday Sunday.

12) What I'm looking forward to in March:
Keith's birthday!

13)  What else is new?
Not much!

What's up with you?
Happy Wednesday!!

January book review!

Life According to Steph

Another year of book reviews...yay!

I'm coming at you live from my bed.  Yours truly was diagnosed with the flu yesterday, its not fun but its not bad.  I think it was caught early enough.  I've had a cough all week, got rougher as the week went on.  Saturday I was eh and Sunday I was almost out for the count with body aches etc.  I got in to the doctor first thing yesterday and the machine didn't even need the full 15 to give a positive.  Ugh!  So its been tamiflu, cough beads, gatorade, sleep and no work.  Here's hoping day 3 tomorrow is better!

I read 9 books in January.  Feb isn't looking that shabby either.

Maggie holds tight to things in life as she's afraid of what will happen if she lets go.  This author did great tackling mental health in this YA book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Guardian Ministries is a small innocence group founded by lawyer/minister Cullen.  The group only handles a few cases at a time and Cullen is the only investigator.  He takes cases that no one else will touch.  This was a strong book.

Jade's life was turned upside down with her Dad's cancer diagnosis.  When her "friend" Zoe comes to life thanks to a magical experiment, she ends up realizing she's not sure about sharing her perfect on paper friend with the real world.  Another great YA book.

⭐⭐⭐⭐
Meg is a creative mastermind and creates beautiful custom journals, etc for clients.  She has a tendency to put a secret word into her lettering and most clients don't figure it out...except for 1.  Meg doesn't have time for Reid's questions but agrees to spend time with him.  As they both start opening up to each other, they realize they have a connection.

Holly is worried about making a good impression with her new community.  She worries worries worries about every little thing.  This book was just ok.  It was kind of a headache with Holly's running around, crazy.

⭐⭐⭐
This was my first book from Netgalley (free book for honest opinions of my own).  I am still getting very use to reading on a kindle, its hard, ha.  This book was okay.  Lilly is a wedding planner who happens to sleep with the best man who suddenly shows up at everything and they can't rid of each other.

This story is inspired by true events.  One summer Edward and his family board a plane to their new life in California.  I really do not want to give this story away, just go read it!

Alix is a woman who gets what she wants and has made a living show other women how to get what they want.  Her nanny, Emira, is caught with her daughter in a situation that many hope never will happen.  Alix then makes it her mission to help Emira out which isn't necessarily the best thing.  I really recommend this book as well.
