Eckerts Sunflowers & peaches oh my!

Its peach season at Eckerts!

I've always wanted to pick something other than our yearly crop of apples so was super excited for a extremely nice day to go do that.  We stopped at the restaurant first for a yummy lunch.  I knew that we'd need semi full tummies with the sun that was beating down and I've never had a bad meal here.  I'm not an apple butter fan but I'll eat it here, yum!

After lunch we headed out to the peach fields.

Let me tell you, as an expert apple picker, the peach supply was amazing compared to some of the apple supply we've seen the past few years.  Maybe we go too late in the season but it was nice have rows and rows to choose from.

After peaches we decided to check out their sunflower maze.  I've always wanted sunflower pictures and a chance to do this so I was super excited.  Its a 5 acre maze and its separated by colors with a map they give you to help you.

It was fun running into various friends while on this adventure.  One was my blogger friend Penny, who blogs over at Penny's Passion.  Its always fun to catch up in real life - thanks for the picture too!

We also had the options of stopping at the vegetable fields or hopping on another tractor for the blueberry fields.  We were hot hot hot from everything we had already done that we decided to try that on another visit.

There's always so much to do at Eckert's and I love that its become a staple in our little family.

Meet us at the Muny - Footloose!

Last night it was a breezy 76 degrees, perfect weather for Footloose at the Muny!

Because we were on vacation Friday, we switched our night to last night and it was packed!

The show was cute but I've always liked Footloose and all its versions.  The songs are so catchy.

Next Friday is a show called Paint Your Wagon. Haven't heard of it so it should be interesting.

Meet Us at the Muny - Cinderella!

Friday night we started the weekend off right at the Muny for Cinderella!

It was a good show. It was the Rogers & Hammerstein version and what disappointed me the most was the parents of some of the kids outloud saying "I'm disappointed that it not the version you know and love." I so bad wanted to say there's different versions of everything but I didn't.

Due to vacation the rest of the week we had to switch this weeks show to Monday so come back next week to see how we get down with Footloose!

Yahoo its Friday!!

We have quite the busy schedule this weekend and I'm super excited!

1 - vacation is in 5 days.  I can't wait!

2 - Did you know that singers Brandy and Whitney Houston were in the Rogers & Hammerstein movie Cinderella?  I vaguely remember it however that adaptation is going to be at the Muny tonight and I'm excited to see it.

3 - We got a new bed last week and it is AMAZING!  I've gotten so much better sleep lately its insane.  Not to mention we got an adjustable base with it so we can sleep elevated, at zero gravity, flat, etc.  Its pretty awesome and its the first mattress we've bought together in our 12 years together.  Shocker I know!

4 - I need to scrapbook badly.  I'm like 2 years behind, ugh and my goal of getting the one done before vacation didn't happen.  Boo!

5 - I need a maid.  Well let me rephrase that.  I need someone once a month to come deep clean my house so I don't have to worry about it and I think I actually am going to start that at the end of August.  My cousin is a stay at home mom now and is looking to make extra money so I may hire her.  It will help us both tremendously!  Hubby has said he'd do it but guess what, he still hasn't so gotta take matters into my own hands (like usual).

Have a great weekend - cheers!

I had a few that I just loved (and 1-2 that I read in a few hours) and a few that I wish I didn't spent much time on but I do my best to give every book tons of tries.

I could not put this book down and read it in one sitting, it was that good!  Annika and Jonathan become friends in college and like most friends, their lives take them in separate directions.  Years later fate reunites the two and their feelings suddenly come back to light.  Such a good read!

My Lovely Wife (ebook)
5 stars
This was quite an interesting read that made me want to keep reading to find out what happens.  This couple is like any other couple that has their secrets to keeping their marriage alive.  However its just not what you'd expect...and you need to read it to find out more!

This book was an interesting read for me.  Hen & Lloyd move to a new neighborhood and Hen is on the right track with her bipolar disorder.  However her thoughts are interrupted when they meet the neighbors and something makes her think that their neighbors have something their are hiding.  I finished it but wasn't a favorite.

Grace plans the ultimate vacation to celebrate her anniversary with her husband.  However it comes to light that he's been cheating and wants a divorce.  Grace is encouraged to still take the trip as a starting over type of event.  While there Grace meets Audrey, a young woman who came to the same city to escape her own heartache.  They form a friendship and each person fills the holes that the other has been missing and realize this trip is just what the other needed.  I really enjoyed this book.

The Banker's Wife
3 stars
This was a chilling book that many different lives intertwine with each other.  It took some time for me to start and continue reading it.  Not a favorite but wasn't a bad read.

I'm a huge fan of Vanderpump Rules on Bravo but this book was not a favorite.  I had high hopes because Stassi is awesome on the show but I was disappointed.

The Night Before: A Novel
2 stars
I was not a fan of this book.  It dragged on and on and on.  I did finish it and the ending did surprise me but it wasn't a favorite that I can recommend.

Blending families can be hard, trust me I know this in real life and this book depicts some of the struggles that can happen.  Her kids and his kids become friends and close confidants then tragedy strikes which makes them start to question their kids and each other.  I could not put this book down, I loved it so much and the ending was shocking and thought provoking.  A must read!

The Friends We Keep; Hardcover; Author - Jane Green
4 stars
Evvie, Maggie and Topher - 3 total opposites - become life long friends in college.  By their 30th college reunion, the friends have lost touch with each other and what their lifelong dreams were.  This book shows you that no matter what life throws at you, its never too late to find a place to call home.  I really liked this book, its a must read but a favorite author!

The Overdue Life of Amy Byler
2 stars
Being a teacher who would love to work in a library, I had high hopes for this book but was let down.  I feel like it was just a run on of thing after thing after thing.  I did like that both of her worlds did eventually meet up in the end but it takes awhile to get to said ending.
