Legends & Lanterns St. Charles

Did everyone have a fantastic weekend? We sure did!

Friday night we had date night at a pizza joint by my parents that I use to go to all the time growing up. They were know for their hospitality, cheap pizza & the best old games around. Sure, it's just a Cecil Whittakers but I cant go to the one by me. It's just not the same.

Saturday my 6 month old twin nieces were dropped off for the night. It was their first night away from home and their first night away from mom & dad...they did great!  Gave us a taste of kids at our house too. We went with the family to Main Street St Charles for Legends & Lanterns.

The street transforms into a day of people from the past. The stores are all in spirit as well.  After strolling for a bit we ate at Hendricks BBQ for dinner before walking more to see the Pumpkin Glow.
In the past it's all lit up. I was disappointed this year because hardly anything was glowing.  We decided to venture home an cheered the Blues on to a win!

Sunday was a whole lot of nothing.  It was a great relaxer.

Hope you all had a great weekend!

A Star is Born

Date night the other night to see "A Star is Born"

I hate when people give away what happens so all I'm going to say is GO...

GO SEE IT!

You will not be disappointed.

Keith now has this song on repeat in his car.

It's that good!

I've heard that its a remake but since I'm a huge fan of them both I won't be able to watch the other ones now.

But seriously, go see it.

Have you seen any good movies lately?

September book review

September book review is here.  I read 4 books, I consider that a win and they all were good too!

There's not enough data in the world to predict what will make your heart tick.  Stella loves patterns however this one is making her think and think and think.  Its an interesting read that will make you want to keep on reading.

Good girls can turn bad and the tennis world shines in this book.  If you've ever been curious about the demands of a player, this is the book for you.  It shows you that you can't always trust the ones who appear to be the best for you.  A good read!

This book has gotten a lot of mixed reviews but because its an author I like, I wanted to check it out.  3 friends meet at camp and have one mission in life: to learn to love themselves for who they are.  It takes a major life situation for them to start seeing it all.  A good ready!

This book...just wow!  I semi related to it and then as I kept reading there was a twist that was out of this world (and then that's where the relation stopped...you'll see why).

Birthday apple picking at Eckert's

I was at Cedar Point on my actual birthday so the weekend after we did our yearly apple picking at Eckert's but combined it with my family birthday and we had so much fun:

We go to Eckert's at least once a year and its usually apple season.  We love fuji and love being in the fields picking them ourselves.  We always go to the Belleville location where they have a restaurant and a big country store for you to browse in.  We all met for lunch then headed out on the wagons to the fields.

This year just about all of my family made it, which makes for a huge group but its always great to feel the love.  Eckert's also offers pumpkin picking and fields this time of year so we browsed those but didn't get any, just stuck with our huge bag of apples.  There's plenty of picture opportunities so I made sure to grab a few:

This yearly tradition is one that I love over and over again.  I'd love to go another season and pick something like strawberries but at least I always remember to go for apples!

Road Trip Days 2 & 3 - Cedar Point Amusement Park

After exploring Lake Erie a bit we started our first day at Cedar Point for their Halloweekends!

Cedar Point is amazing!  We are use to Six Flags, well, this puts it to shame.  Its like a mini Disney with hotels, restaurants, etc all in one place.  Keith had come here as a child but never as an adult and I had never been at all and it was one heck of a trip.

This park is about thrills.  They are known for their coasters and there's only 1 I did not ride because I am not a fan of backwards only.  We got there at park opening on both days, ate our lunches in the car and stayed until close.

They have a great kids section which is dedicated to Snoopy and friends.  I even found the Great Pumpkin:

We downloaded their app which helped immensely with wait times and special events happening all over the park.  On Day 2 we were able to catch a few of the shows and they were awesome:

I wish we had gotten a chance to go visit the hotels on the beach, which is considered on site, but we didn't.  We did eat at 2 of the restaurants for dinner each night, Famous Dave's at the Marina and Melt Bar & Grill within the park. Both were delicious and must try if you're ever at the park.

We had an amazing time and totally suggest anyone who is into fun visit.  Allow for 2 days and you will get everything done.  I am so happy we did this over a long weekend.  There is just so much to do and see that I really couldn't post it all.  Until next time Cedar Point!
