Friday 5

1.....thanks for letting me vent a bit yesterday. Sometimes that's the best medicine!

2.....we have one of our 2 yearly trivia nights tonight. It benefits the USO and is put on by my friend Becky.  The table players have all changed this year but it should be fun!!

5.....we've been watching a lot of movies lately.  I, Tonya; Downsizing; Molly's game just to name a few. Sometimes all you need is a night of nothing and just watch movies.

Never will I ever...

Image result for quotes about being important

...stop wanting a maid!  I swear, the amount of work I do around the house (without the help of my husband) is a full time job.

...stop asking my hubby to help out!  Keith seems to think he can just come home, dinner will be ready for him and he can do whatever he wants the rest of the night.  He's recently started masters classes, which is great, but now its "i have work for school" instead of helping out.  What he doesn't see is that just about every human in the universe has had a job, a family, etc and done schooling.  He didn't go away to his undergrad hence why he's not sure how to multi-task but its like cmon dude!

...allow myself to be bullied by a family member.  I got in "trouble" from a cousin because I didn't respond to her text in the timely manner she expected.  She texted at 3:20; work got slammed aroud 3 and I put my phone away and didn't look at it again until I was in the car at 5 (after a meeting).  I actually had a few texts to respond to and when I did I intercepted a text from her to her daughter saying that I must be pissed off because I haven't responded and I always have my phone up my ass 24/7.  This isn't the first time she's done this and I finally snapped - I said excuse me, told her to f off and that now I'm pissed.  I then get another 7 page text (I'm not kidding) on how that obviously wasn't for me, how I don't respect her, and literally turned it all on me.  Now mind you, she has yet to respond to a text my sister sent out 2 weeks ago about a dinner Saturday night but I don't respond for 1.5 hours and I'm in trouble.  I broke down and told my Dad, he needed to know, I've blocked her on my facebook and I didn't respond.  I'm done...you don't treat people like that!

...not tell people how much they mean to me.  Life is too damn short to do the above!

...not travel.  I get vacation days, I will use them.  I'm sorry but I'm not the bottom of the totem pole anymore.

...not read your guys' blogs.  I've made lots of friends via blogs and love reading about everything!

Have a great Thursday!

(thanks for letting me vent, ha)

#14 & #15

Secret...secret...I got a secret!

Back in September, by random question, I found out my baby seester is pregnant!  Keith & I had to keep this secret for, at first, 2 weeks until she told the rest of the family and then until they had a gender reveal party.

Well, the secret got even bigger:

They are expecting twins!!  2 little ladies will be joining the family in May, which will give me 15 nieces and nephews!

Needless to say the families were shocked but excited. We have a diaper party for Aaron and Kristine's shower both in February. She wanted it early before she gets too uncomfortable with doubles inside.

For the family gender reveal they shot off fireworks. For the friend reveal, it was the above picture.

Turns out, twins runs on the mother's side so now the running joke is to see that if it's our time to have kids, if we will have twins now, ha!

Can't wait to meet Cheyenne & Carrie in a few months!

December Books

My goal for December was to read a lot of Christmas books...well it didn't exactly happen like that.  I got one read but you know what, it snows til March here in Missouri so I just may keep reading them.  Here's my reviews to round out 2017:

It Takes Two: Our Story
2 stars
I love their shows...their book, not so much.  I had high hopes for this book because their show is good and everything I hear about them is fun and interesting.  However I don't know if it just dragged on and on and then each twin wrote their side in the margins...who knows.  I just know that I skipped through it as it didn't keep my attention.

This book is very detailed, yet what DS book is not.  Its set in Napa, which is on my life bucket list to visit and its like a modern day Cinderella.  I don't want to give too much away but do check it out.

I loved this book!  Very cute, short read about a dedicated young woman who just loves life.  It shows that you can find love in the most awkward ways.

I surpassed my reading challenge goal of 24 books by reading 41 this year.  I'm honestly shocked by that but happy at the same time.  Not sure what I'm going to pick for 2018 but my to-read list is ever growing.  Can't wait to see what you've read!

Check out my page on Goodreads!

Happy Reading!

2018 word of the year: ME!

Image result for me

I keep seeing people pick random words for a word of the year and it got me thinking that maybe I should pick one for my year.  After much thought the word is

ME

My life turned upside down at the age of 15 with my mom's leukemia diagnosis. I had to jump into adult mode because I had to help my dad with my younger siblings.  Since then it's been about everyone else, making sure everything is going for others.  I have to be the strong one in all my relationships even when sometimes I just want to cry or scream.

It's stressful, it's taken a toll on me and it's time to start fresh.

That famous saying "treat others the way you'd want to be treated" apparently doesn't apply to others.  It's time to say goodbye to those who don't respect me. I'm too old for those type of games.

My action plan is:
- scrapbook more
- start getting massages
- do nothing more
- leave stuff for others to be done & hope that it gets done
- try not to let stuff bother me
- say goodbye to those who don't treat me the way they'd like to be treated
- speak up/voice my opinion
- don't give in as much as I did in 2017

We will see how this goes. Good luck with your word of the year as well!
