St. Charles Main Street Pumpkin Glow

To get us into the Halloween spirit even more, on Friday night we finally got a chance to go to St. Charles for their Pumpkin Glow.

The decorated the streets with halloween decor and pumpkins in every shape and size.  They were also doing a Legends & Lanterns night where along main street, you could stop and earn a sticker for a card when you met each legend,  There were story tellers, card readers, everything you could imagine for the holiday.

Because St. Charles is quite popular and we wanted to make it a date night, I got us a reservation at Tony's on Main Street, one of the few places that still takes them when there is festival going on.  It was delicious as always.  A quick stop at Grandma's Cookies for a sweet treat after sealed the deal.  If you've never stopped at Grandma's, you must!

The weather was perfect for walking around, could have been a bit cooler but hey we live in Missouri.  Can't wait until the next festival!

Happy Halloween!

Grant's Farm Spooktacular

If you're ever in St. Louis, Grant's Farm must be on your list!

We live a mere 7 miles from this awesome establishment and try to go several times a year.  Due to schedules we finally made it this past weekend for our first time this season.

Several species of animals call Grant's Farm home and buffalo are a part of that.  There's just something calming and relaxing when visiting.

They decorate for all the seasons and have special events for the seasons as well.  They had plenty of things out for Halloween:

Because they are a part of the AB family, in the biergarten you can sample the latest AB products on tap.  While you're sipping away, you can step into history in the stables and see the first wagon pulls, and the horse show winners that were a big part of the family.  I do think one of the horses drank too much beer:

It always fun when we get a chance to stop by.  We tried to get a picture with an elephant but they decided they just weren't going to have it:

Love love love this STL landmark!  Happy Halloween!

Stuff & Things I've Learned

Stuff, Things, etc.

Hey hey its Thursday...and I'm on fall break - SCORE!

~*~ I've learned that people have ZERO respect for law enforcement and emergency vehicles.  I pull over when there's sirens, its the law and common courtesy.  The other morning I pulled over and the car behind me nearly hit me then went around me, almost hitting the ambulance.  Really?

~*~ I've learned you're not going to make everyone happy.  Sometimes I wonder why we even try?
Image result for can't make everyone happy meme

~*~ I've learned that some people are so desperate to be in a relationship that they don't care if the other person is already in one.  If they want that person they are going to try everything to get that person.  Its sad how many relationships have ended because of people like that.

~*~ I've learned that I'm apparently not a true friend if I care about a person...then I'm not a true friend if I don't care.  You just can't win!
Image result for damned if i do, damned if I don't

~*~ I've learned that too many people depend on social media.  A friend didn't like that I advised him not to go on a date with someone that I knew was dating someone already and because of that, he took me off facebook, instagram, etc.  Then like an hour later he friend requested me.  I made that request sit for a good week, ha, but caved in because he's supposed to be doing something with Keith tonight and I don't want him to bring it up.

~*~ I've learned people will only stick around for as long as they need you then they aren't here for you when you need them.  Life's a 2 way street people!
Image result for friendship is a 2 way street

~*~ I've learned that I am strong!  I've gone through a lot in my 35 years on this earth, many things that some haven't even touched on in their life before.  Do I wish it upon anyone...no.  Do I wish things were different in a lot of aspects...yes.  But I will not apologize for who I am because everything I've dealt with has made me who I am.  I get knocked down a lot...but I get back up again!

What have you learned recently?

Have a good Thursday!

Six Flags Fright Fest

We had a pretty good weekend, how about you?

I've mentioned on here many times before that my sister works for Six Flags and we always get fun perks throughout the season and we make sure to go during the regular season, Fright Fest and this year they are doing Holiday in the Park.  Season passes rock and I suggest you get one!

Friday night we gathered a group together (12 to be exact) and went to Fright Fest.  Kristine usually gets to dress up and that's the night we usually go however with schedules this year she didn't it to work out.  Park opens at 6, and at 7 the zombie train arrives:

I'm not going to lie - I'm not a huge fan of zombies and scary things so needless to say someone coming in my face isn't my cup of tea but its a fun night.  However because they were short a lot of staff, it wasn't as bad as it has been in the past.

We stopped at the Palace Theater to catch a show called "Love at First Fright".  It was cute, the songs were fun and it was a place to warm up as it was cold that night:

It was a fun night and we got to go inside the haunted houses thanks to our VIP.  I opted out of those but still had fun:

Can't wait to see how the first year of Holiday in the Park turns out a month from today.  Gotta love theme parks and their special times.

Until next year zombies!

Friday Five

Image result for friday

Yay for Friday!!!

1)  This week went by soooo slow because next week is conferences and we are off for 3 days.  I can't wait, I have a lot that I want to get done in those 3 days.

2)  Tonight we are going to Freight Fest at Six Flags.  The zombie train arrives at 7.  Unfortunately this year Kristine won't be riding on it but we will still be there watching it.  I'm not a huge fan of all this scary stuff but I'll go once a year just to go and I will not, I repeat, will not go into any haunted houses.  I'm good, thank you!

3)  Saturday I would love to finally go to Grants Farm.  You'd think because its practically in my backyard we would have made it there this year but it didn't happen yet.

4)  Sunday, the Walking Dead premieres and my parents are having a family dinner like always to celebrate it.  I don't pay attention to the show itself but I know enough that this premiere is supposed to be a bad/good one.

5)  I need to go Halloween shopping as I realized I don't have a lot to decorate with.  I'd love some orange lights for our deck and whatnot.

Have a great weekend!

October craft - fall jars

I love crafting so I was super excited when my sister suggested we spend Sunday afternoon creating something for the fall.

Kris took charge and got all the supplies the 7 of us ladies would need.  My stepmom made some snacks and we settled in and had a fun day:

The sample product was to have 4 jars to spell out the word "FALL".  I started with 4 then ended up with 3 as I dropped one and it shattered all over the place.  I didn't let that bum me out and I modified my project to look like this when all was finished:

We are already planning to do something for Christmas in November and hope to keep this a monthly tradition.  Any suggestions for us - we'd love to do a Christmas sign of some sort.  We are open to any and all ideas.

Can't wait for the next craft day!

happy BLUES year!

Last Thursday the greatest sport ever returned to STL:

Happy Blues year!

This was the first year in, I don't know how long, that the home opener wasn't on, or around, my birthday.  So we were able to secure our season tickets and do the opener like we do every year.

It was a blast!

We played the Minnesota Wild and the game was sold out and there wasn't a boring moment.  Luckily the Blues came out on top and won the opener - that's huge, and it sets the standard for the year.

It was great seeing friends we haven't seen since April when the season ends.  All of us in our section have had the same season tickets for years upon years and we all are on a first name basis and friendly as can be.

The season should be great - and STL is hosting the NHL Winter Classic.  You know we will be there.

Can't wait to go to more games!

Go Blues!

~*~ READING ~*~
Unfortunately I'm not reading reading at the moment as I just haven't had time but I do have the newest Lyssa Layne book to look over on Fall Break.  Excited about that!

~*~ PLANNING ~*~
Lots of fun stuff!  This weekend is Freight Fest and our Walking Dead premiere dinner; next weekend is a yearly halloween chili bonfire; the weekend following is homecoming at my alma mater then road trip weekend!  Super excited as I need breaks!

~*~ WATCHING ~*~
Nothing as I'm at work!

~*~ ANTICIPATING ~*~
The basement work starting and getting finished fast hopefully!

~*~ DRINKING ~*~
Water water water but yesterday was a caffeine day for sure, with it being a full moon and testing day.  Might turn into one of those today too if I stop for gas, can't pass up a fountain sodie!

~*~ WEARING ~*~
So today is College clothing day for Red Ribbon Week.  My MIZZOU shirt went MIA and my SEMO stuff is big, old and ratty (replacing that in a few weeks) so I found a black tee and a red jacket.  I got this!

~*~ LOVING ~*~
Was loving the fall weather that we had...and now its back to the 80s.  Hopefully it goes back to "norm" later this week.

~*~ LOATHING ~*~
Certain people who take advantage of friendships.  I've gotten beaten down quite a bit lately and I'm still here.  I just don't think its fair that people can give you beatings but when its time for them to get them from you, its not allowed.

~*~ NEEDING ~*~
Cuddle time, and a nap!

Have a great Tuesday friends :)
