Disney honeymoon Day 1

Kiss me, I'm irish...at Disney World!!

Our plane left bright and early on St. Patty's Day to take us to our honeymoon destination.  After arriving at Orlando International we were whisked away by the Disney Magical Express to our resort, Pop Century and it was a fun place to call home:

My sister met us there after we checked in and the plan was for us to go around Orlando and see the things we wanted to see while she had her car to be our chauffeur.  Our first stop was ESPN Wide World of Sports where we got to see the Braves play a spring training game.

From there we went with her to see her place of employment while at Disney, the Wilderness Lodge.  She got to take us to where they get their costumes (not uniforms) and see how some things are done while employed at Disney:
We then headed on to Downtown Disney to celebrate St. Patty's Day Disney style.  Thanks to the man and woman on stilts, we got beads and noticed because of our honeymoon ears:

It was then time for a yummy dinner at House of Blues:
Delicious food for very hungry people!

Because Magic Kingdom had late hours due to the holiday, we decided to make the most of our park hopper and spend a few hours at MK for our first park.

We met many of the characters that night and got pictures with them all.  We hit up several rides, including "Its A Small World", Tomorrowland Raceway, Dumbo, Goofy's Train Ride and many others before calling it a night with the fireworks finale:

What a great first day to our honeymoon!

A stop at Old Navy

I won another Old Navy Style Council Sample & Share for a dress this month (check back for a post on that later) however while there I noticed they were having an awesome sale for people to stock up and I figured why not.

I got these two crewneck shirts for a buy 1 get one 1 free low price:

as well as updates to these of mine that are worn out for their normal low price of 2 for $5:

plus this (minus the white shirt), which was a must need item as I keep having to borrow it from people for $6:

all for a mere $20.

I don't shop a lot for me so this is a lot considering I'm going on a trip and don't "need."  But with that great price I said go for.

Especially since bags of clothes are leaving my house as my spring cleaning time arrives.

Yay for Old Navy!!

All it takes is faith, trust and a little pixie dust ;)

Happy birthday!!

Saturday was my hubby's 31st birthday.

He opted for Cheesecake Factory for dinner and then a Blues game after, which they won!!  I gave him a polo shirt he had been wanting, a 3D blu ray movie and this egg cooker thing he mentioned he wanted as well.

Very relaxing birthday.

His best friend neglected to show any care in calling him or hanging out with him on his special day.  So did a few family members (ahem the ones who birthed him) and you could tell that bothered him yet he wouldn't admit to it but I did my best to make sure he had a great day.  Needless to say, using his words, just means he doesn't have to make an effort.

Have a great year, I love you!!

I've come to the realization...

...that I love

JELLY BEANS!!
One of my students gave me one of those tervis tumblers filled with bags of jelly beans.  Now I don't normally eat candy like that (I'm a chocolate girl) but I needed something sweet the other night, opened the bag up and well let's just say there's not much of the bag left.

I never realized how good they are!

The red are the best!!

It's OK Thursday!

Its Ok Thursdays

Hey hey hey its Thursday!

That means in 9 days I will be on a plane headed for my honeymoon.
I.can't.freaking.wait!

Until then...

It's ok

...that it took awhile for it to sink in that I'm headed to Disney

...that a friend is frustrating me about a scrapbook she's holding hostage from my bachelorette party 8 months ago.  The claim is that it needs to be fixed and finished...yet the other 5 girls said it was done.

...and exciting that I got another Old Navy Sample Share...this time its dresses!

...to do absolutely nothing last night and feel darn good about it.

...that I get frustrated with my husband when his idea of cleaning up the dishes is only putting his away and then sitting on the computer.  Doh!  There's others to be done.

...to be nervous about donating the bags of clothes that are too big for me now, in the fear of gaining all that weight back and needing them again.

...to have made the "pack for the trip" pile already.  There's only 3 items but its a start.

Have a great day!! :)

Yelp Black & Red Ball

Last weekend was a crazy weekend!

It started out on Friday night with a few of my favorite friends at Yelp's Black & Red Ball.  Because I am a Yelp Elite, Keith & I were able to arrive at the venue, the Contemporary Art Museum, an hour before the rest of the Yelpers and enjoy the fun before it became a crazy place.

While mingling and talking with fellow Yelpers, there was a lot of eating at many places that are on my "to-do" restaurant list:

  • Onesto Pizza had yummy horderves and finger foods
  • Mayuri had yummy indian food
  • Steve's Hot Dogs had hot dogs that you could have ANYTHING you wanted on them
  • Vega Deli had salad
  • Bogart's had their famous ribs...yum!
  • Urban Eats had a few drinks
  • Brio had a cheesy vodka pasta
  • Park Avenue had many types of gooey butter cakes
  • Gelateria Tavolini had gelato
  • Serendipity had ice cream
  • Square One and Urban Chestnut had awesome drink concoctions
There was much fun with the pop up photo booth from Brea Photography.  You got to walk around a bit and see the museum items on the first floor.  There wasn't much dancing but it surely was a sight to see with many people's outfits.

Then at the end of the night you got your own Yelp goodie bags with a Yelp Ball, YelpStick, Yelp Pen, Yelp File and a coupon for an oil change.

We had a blast...and can't wait for more events!

It's OK Thursday! and Happy March!!

Its Ok Thursdays

It's ok...

...to feel like the week is just dragging by real slow

...to feel like your getting walked on when people act like you've never been in a classroom before (yet you have)

...to get tired of trying to reach your dream...again

...to want to pack for your trip 16 days in advance

...to get frustrated when Hobby Lobby or Michaels doesn't have what you want or need

...to get excited about seeing different groups of friends the next few weekends

...to not want to deal with people who can't act like adults.  Really?!?

...to be iffy about an announcement a friend made to us Saturday night.

...to not have blogged like I normally have all week.  I got stuff to post, just have to get it written!

Have a great Thursday and Happy March!!
