Sandsational Sparkle Wedding Sand

Back when Keith and I set a wedding date, I had decided that we were going to do the wedding sand ceremony instead of the unity candle ceremony.

With this decision came finding the sand colors that matched my wedding colors.  Local shops around town did not have any wine color sand so I had purchased black and white sand originally and hoped that I would be able to fine the wine color somewhere.

One afternoon I spent some time on the internet and came across Sandsational Sparkle  Much to my liking you could get many things from your wedding from this particular website.  I was very excited to see the available sand colors and that they had wine.  I searched their site even more and thought this fitted t-shirt had a cute slogan.  Now that a few months have passed, they have even more cuter apparel than what they did back when I got mine and I do wish that some of the choices had been available.

On the day of the wedding, the altar looked like this with the sand ceremony setup:
I decided to have the white represent the bride and the wine represent the groom:
Once I get settled from the wedding and get everything unpacked, the sand in the glass jars will be displayed in a wedding setup at our house.

I would definitely recommend Sandsational Sparkle for any of your wedding needs!

I was given a free package of wine colored sand and a got husband! fitted t-shirt in exchange for an honest review of these product from Sandsational Sparkle Wedding Sand. All opinions are 100% mine.

Friday Confessional

Photobucket

I confess ~ I have been a horrible blogger lately.  I seriously have no time, and I haven't written much in my personal blog and this public one.  Makes me sad - I am trying to note on friends because I know if I don't note on theirs they won't note on mine so I'm trying to make the rounds each morning.

I confess ~ I am really happy I changed jobs.  End of story.

I confess ~ I really don't know how I did the 2 job thing years ago because now its hard as heck.  I'm wondering if its because I have an extra person I'm caring for now.  I know I usually only work 2 hours when I'm at the 2nd job (with my Dad as his assistant) and its not everyday but man when I was working til close at retail I feel like I had more time even.  Who knows!?!?

I confess ~ I got some really awesome deals from Shutterfly as of late.  I'll share in another post.

I confess ~ I'm excited about hockey season this year!!

I confess ~ yay its Friday!! :)

Have a great weekend!!

Ten on Tuesday

1. Do you listen to the radio in your car?  If so, what type of station do you like?
I listen to the radio all the time in the car.  I have a variety of stations on my dial and usually I go through all of them every day as I hate commercials.  My favorite stations are current music however..
2. What is the best concert you have ever attended?
Journey and U2
3. What is the most embarrassing concert you have ever attended?
Cowboy Mouth.  I simply went because the guy I was dating at the time thought it was cool to go to it.  He picked a spot right by the speakers and since their music is all bass, it wasn't a fun time.
4. If you could have the singing voice of anyone in the world, who would it be?
Carrie Underwood
5. You’re auditioning for American Idol.  What song do you sing?
I would NEVER audition. Ever. EVER.
6. If your previous weekend had its own soundtrack, what would be a few of the songs?
Bridal songs and kids music as I went dress shopping with a friend and my niece had her first bday
7. Most annoying television show theme song ever:
Maybe Married with Children
8. Are you and your significant other music-compatible?
About 95% - he's not a total country fan but he does listen now so its good
9. A song that brings me back to middle school:
Ace of Base
10. A song that brings me back to high school:
Don't forget the sunscreen...don't remember the title but that was in it
11. A guilty pleasure song (or three):
Hmmm....

PYHO: Wedding reception

The rest of my wedding was fast!

After the pictures at Queeny Park, we headed to the reception which was about a mile away from where we live in St. Louis.  Our DJ, Brandon (who looked a lot like John Mayer in my opinion) met us and talked to us how things would happen and offered us our first drink.  Our entire wedding party was introduced to hockey music then when it was time for us, he sounded a buzzer and played other hockey music as we made our entrance.  It was quite fun!!  I took a lot of time to just sit at the head table and soak it all in until they needed me for my next task...

...which was the cake cutting.  I was going to be nice but Keith decided to get mean so I had to do it back:
After a bit of socializing and whatnot it was time for the first dance.  Keith and I picked "Wonderful Tonight" by Eric Clapton for our dance - it was perfect for the occasion.  The next one started the water works.  I had given my dad the task of picking our song and telling the DJ - well he picked, "Holes in the Floor of Heaven" by Steve Wariner and really spoke the words about the person I miss the most:
I missed Keith's mother/son dance as I had to go fix myself and the bustle of the dress but they danced to "What A Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong.  From there we did a snowball dance to get everyone on the floor and our dj commented at the end of the night we're one reception that had everyone out there.

We both couldn't have asked for a better wedding and reception.  It was our dream and it turned out more than perfectly.

And that's pouring my heart out :)

Ten on Tuesday

I've been a horrible blogger...but I'm trying my best to juggle everything.  Once I'm on a better schedule, it'll be better.

Anywho I'm linking up with Chelsea for "Ten on Tuesday" that I caught floating around blog world.

1. What do you do for a living?
I am a teacher/teacher assistant for a school district.

2. What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I'm doing something I love in a field that I love.  Kids (at certain ages) still love you no matter what.

3. What’s your least favorite thing about your job?
That its not my own classroom.  I was cut from teaching and this is hopefully my last step on the ladder (again) to get back to my own class.  I also don't have a desk/office, I share with others.

4. If you weren’t a ____________, what would you be?
Hmm there are so many things I think would be fun, just hard to get started.  Now that my wedding is over, I think being some kind of event planner would be fun.

5. What is something that you would love to get paid for that you think no one would ever pay you for?  that's a hard one!

6. If you could have any job for exactly one day, what would it be?
I'd be the President.  Just to see.

7. If you had to do manual labor, what would you do?
I'm pretty sure I kinda do that.  But maybe working at a greenhouse.

8. What is something you were forced to learn in high school that was supposed to be super important, but you never actually use?
Certain maths and sciences but since my Dad wanted me high up on the math scale, I kept going.

9. Who was your favorite boss?  Why?
My boss when I had my own classroom however this one might be up there too.

10. Where would you rather work: Dunder Mifflin Paper Company (The Office), Wernham Hogg Paper Company (The Office, UK), or Initech (Office Space)?
Dunder Mifflin - I could relax all day and get paid!

Wedding Day

Friday July 29th came just as fast as I expected it to!

That morning we awoke early as I had to make an early morning run to Bed, Bath & Beyond because the previous night I found out that the picture frame we bought for the signatures was smaller than I thought so we ran and got the bigger one and had to get a picture printed as the printer was out of color ink.  By the time we got back to the house, Keith's sisters were there and ready to head to the hair salon.

We walk into the hair salon (my friend Jamie's aunt's salon) only to find out that she had scheduled the entire bridal party for Saturday, not Friday so she wasn't there.  I didn't freak out and the owners of the salon told us they'd get everyone taken care of...and they did!!  Her aunt eventually showed up and gave her run around like she normally does but in the end everyone got taken care of and that's that.
After that I needed some food (so I thought) so we stopped at Chick Fil A in the valley before heading back to my house.  I thought I was hungry but once I ate my stomach started turning.  I knew though if I didn't eat I'd be very hungry later.

We left for the church around 3 to be there by 330.  I thank the lord for my day of coordinator Katy - without her my day would have been bumpy in my eyes.  She did everything in her power to make it run so smoothly for me, and that I didn't have to think of anything.  She got frustrated with my bridesmaids as none of them wanted to help with the dress with me (nor my stepmom) because it was corset but we got it taken care of and the ceremony went smoothly.
Instead of getting a party bus, my maid of honor (aka my sister) and her boyfriend (the one in the glasses in the above picture) rented a car to drive us around that day.  From the church we made a stop at Queeny Park for the Dog Museum for a ton of pictures of the wedding party:
before getting to the reception.  I'll post the reception in another post :)

Wedding rehearsal

Keith and I have been married 1 week - whoa!

I figured I'd better get to updating :)

Last Thursday snuck up on me waay too fast!  That morning Keith and I went to the reception hall and set up the room the way we wanted it.  From there, he went home and I met up with my sister and stepmom for nails at Rosie's.  I will admit it, I usually do my own nails so this was a treat, and I had never had a pedicure before (go ahead Jen and gasp!).  Anywho the pampering was quite nice!!  From there we headed home and just hung out until the reception.  Keith came over to the house early so we could drive together and he could hang out with my sister's boyfriend who came into town with her.

The rehearsal at the church went very well and I knew we had made the right decision with the pastor we picked.  From there we went to dinner at Pasta House and because we had made a point not to go there since we knew we'd be there for the wedding, it tasted really good!

Keith and I went back to my parents afterwards where we exchanged gifts.  He gave me freshwater pearls and I gave him the ultimate zombie movie collection.  He knows that when he finds a watch he falls in love with (since he's picky) I will purchase it for him.  He was happy with what I did get him, though.  Shortly after that, Keith left and I finally got some sleep for anticipation of the big day!
