Another weekend gone!!

It's a great day to be alive!!

Really I'm boggled down with stuff I should be doing, so why am I happy, no clue!!  Especially since this week and next are going to be beyond busy!!

Had a pretty good weekend.  Friday night Keith had to go fix a last minute computer problem and ended up home a lot later than normal so our plan to try a new restaurant didn't pan out.  But we still went out and made homage at the bar of 54th Street Grill while enjoying some munchies and watching the Blues play.  I don't really remember who won because I had to go to bed quite early due to getting up quite early on Saturday.

Saturday I trekked out to Warrenton for a job screening with Warrenton School District.  Its a drive but it would be my own classroom and that's what I'm hoping for with all my heart again.  From there I headed back south with many stops along the way to get errands done before heading to Trivia Night back in St. Charles.  It was fun, we came in 4th place and our theme was New Orleans Jazz:

After trivia we headed home as my bed was calling my name big time ~ and since I didn't get to sleep in on Saturday, I didn't wake up until 10 today.  Tonight is volleyball and getting ready for the work week.

Hope everyone had a great weekend, has a great week and I'm looking forward to next weekend ;)

Full moons

I dislike full moons.

Its like people's "true" sides come out then.
Ugh!!

That's all for now ~ I'll update about all events of the weekend on Monday :)

"9-5" the musical

Last night Keith surprised me with tickets to the musical "9-5" at the Fox Theatre.

I was very excited because a) he never surprises me like that and b) I hadn't been to a show at the Fox in a really long time.  He couldn't go though so he arranged for my stepmom to go with me so after a yummy dinner out in Brentwood we headed to the Dolly Parton production.

It was very cute!!  If you all remember American Idol, season 3 had a runner up by the name of Diana DeGarmo, well she plays the "Dolly" role in the play here in St. Louis.  We had some good seats and it was a good laughing time to end the day.

I recommend seeing it if you get a chance!

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day

I hope everyone had a good lover's day!!

Keith and I started our celebrating on Saturday night with dinner at TGI Friday's.  We were going to do a place downtown Monday before the Blues game but we got to thinking we'd be rushing around so we opted for something normal on Saturday.  Then on Monday we exchanged gifts (I got a necklace and a card; he got a card, candy, a gc for lunches out and a hairbrush he had requested) before heading to a Blues game that they actually won!!

We had gotten free tickets to see the premiere of "Unknown" with Liam Neeson but once I got home from work and the gym I didn't feel like moving too much so we're just getting stuff done around here.  So far so good!

More later :)

February GNI

Happy Saturday everyone!

Last night was the February Girls Night In and we all gathered at Becky's house for a Valentine's Day themed party.  Everyone brought something sweet to share and we had just about everything imaginable to eat :)  I had won a Durex Houseparty and was given a ton of freebies to share with my girlies - condoms, flavorful lube, little cute boxes to hold the condoms in and coozie cups.  I had kept it a secret and prepared goodie bags for each girl that came and it was quite the fun night:

Ate a little too many sweets but the number one rule of girls night is CALORIES DON'T COUNT!!

Can't wait for the next one :)

Do your job!!

This post stems from the one I just wrote about being organized...

All I got to say is, if you can't do your job then quit so someone else can do it.  Really people, there are millions out in the world looking for employment who would LOVE a chance to do what you do.  So why not let them, I'm sure they'd stay on top of things.

Ugh!

Sorry...but an almost 4 month gap of putting a deposit down and not getting anything in the mail from the church STILL (and every email has some kind of excuse on it as to why) is making me a bit frustrated.  The two words you don't ever want to tell someone who is planning something is "DON'T WORRY!!"

Have a great weekend!

2nd full day

Hey yo!!!

I feel like I haven't had time to post anything or read many lately.  I'm doing my best until I get back into a routine with the new job.

I officially started last Monday for a mere 3 hours, then we had snow days for 3 days then all Fridays are half days for the kiddos so we can do data the rest of the day so it was an easy week.  So today was my official 2nd day so to speak.  I've got a cute kiddo they are pairing me with and he and I have bonded - he's 3 years old and his giggles make me smile :)  I have to be there by 8, I get off by 315 so I'm home by 3:45 at the latest and the best part is I won't have to really get a 2nd job because I'm going to do summer school.  So here's to a new beginning with a new job but praying hard for my own classroom again for the fall.

I think that's it for now.  Oh for you STL peeps, anyone down for dodgeball??

11 years ago today...

Heaven received another perfect angel.

I love and miss you Mom - I wish you were here with me, helping me with the next step of my life and supporting everything that has been happening with me.  Know that I love you and not a day goes by that I don't think about you!  You always loved the snow and it snowed today for you :)

A walk in the snow...er sleet!

Happy second snow day of the week!

Keith is ecstatic because normally on snow days, he still has to go in because he's considered district staff at Central Office. However they deemed yesterday (and today) unsafe for them to drive so he got to stay home and didn't need to use his days. Which is good because our condo is usually the last place to get plowed and when I looked outside this morning, it hadn't been touched.

So yesterday, the workout-aholics we are, since we couldn't get to the gym we decided to walk to Family Video to get "The Social Network". It was 2.6 miles roundtrip in the sleet that was already on the ground, which is a lot harder to walk in than snow. But we made it there, they were open and there were tons of people who had the same idea, we got the movie and we headed back. However heading back had us going into the sleet and wind that started to fall, so made the trek a bit more harder but we got our workout in!!

And the Social Network was a good movie!!

No plans today but I fully expect to be at school tomorrow, I'd be shocked if we're not so I know I'll be scraping my car at some point.

Enjoy your day!!

Oh and my younger brother Matt is a Sheriff's Deputy up in Northwestern Missouri in a town called Chillicothe (2 hours northwest of Columbia, 1 hour north of KC) and he made it on the news as they did indeed get the blizzard conditions we were supposed to get.  So click the link to see my favorite sheriff in action (ha):

Snowmageddon

Ice ice baby!

Add a little sleet...

..and ya got Snowmageddon!!

Here it is, almost noon and I have yet to get dressed because I know I'm not doing much today.  I'd love to get to the gym but that's not happening as its not near me but I may end up walking 2 miles or so today just to get something in.  I hear shoveling and de-icing will burn a few as well :)

I started the new job yesterday and worked a mere 3 hours because they called the school off early.  Fine by me, my car was already iced over and I had to pull over once to clear windshield and wipers due to them freezing as I drove.  They of course called it today and they predict that we won't be back in school until Friday.  Keith even got a day off, usually they make staff go in despite weather but I saw them post it on FB last night and he was shocked/happy that he got to sleep in today.

Let's see just how much else happens in St. Louis today!
